Happy Monday!
I am very excited to be sharing my 3 favorite fall activities with you to kick off this week! But before I dive in, I wanted to share a recent nugget of knowledge that has helped me keep the Sunday scaries at bay.
I have started viewing Monday’s in a different light. I am constantly surrounded by Monday negativity, and frankly it drives me crazy. Monday’s are a blessing, they are a weekly opportunity to start fresh and set goals. So this week as you reflect on your Monday, let go of the negative outlook, or thinking about how tired you are, and instead think about how great this week could be.
And onto my 3 favorite fall activites!
1. Grab a good book, and hit Millenium Park
The sparkle of Millenium Park has never gone away for me. I remember going to the park when I was much younger and could only dream of being a Chicago resident. In the Fall Millenium Park is still busy, however it is no longer filled with tons of field trips like in August. Lately I have been spending my lunch breaks reading All the Missing Girls on a bench in the cooler weather and I have been loving it.
Next up on deck I am going to be reading You are a Badass and let me tell you I have not been this excited to read a book in a while.
Throw any book recommendations you have in the comments below!
2. Cozy up in a brewery
Checking out new breweries is one of my favorite things to do. Chicago has a ton of craft breweries making it the perfect way to get touristy in your own city. Over the weekend I checked Begyle and Dovetail off my list.
Begyle was an awesome, laid back atmosphere, you basically feel like you are drinking in a large garage with tons of board games.
Dovetail was easily my favorite of the two. The atmosphere was extremely cozy and the beer was delicious. My favorite was the Dunkelweizen, it was somewhat chocolaty with notes of banana and clove.
These two breweries are within a block of each other, making them the perfect way to spend a few hours on a Saturday evening.
3. Watch Rocky Horror at The Music Box Theatre
I can’t lie I threw this on my list even though I am not doing it until next Tuesday(Halloween!) for the first time. The Music Box does a couple special showings of Rocky Horror leading up to Halloween and I have heard it is quite the event. The show is put on with live actors on the stage along with the film playing behind them. I will be dressing up in some sort of costume(because Halloween) and I cannot wait!
The Music Box even throws in a prop bag for the members of the audience that want to get extra involved. This includes tons of props that prompt action by the audience throughout the film!
Have a fabulous week and let me know your favorite fall activities below!
