Hi guys!
Today is International Women’s Day and I figured what better way to celebrate than to share a few of my favorite things(books, music, podcasts, etc.) by some fellow powerful women.
Today I feel proud of how far we have come in the last year alone, but also think about all the ways I want to continue the fight for equal rights for all. I attended the Women’s March in Chicago at the end of January and it was an empowering experience to say the least. I could go on and on about this topic but instead I leave you with an idea I whole heartedly believe in:
And here is how to SUPPORT FELLOW BOSS LADIES:
Listen to some HAIM
HAIM is a pop rock band made up of three sisters. I am going to see HAIM in concert with Lizzo(obsessed) when they come to Chicago in May and I am soo excited! I love the musical sister vibes I get every time I listen to their music, and rock on to them for making some pretty dang fabulous music!
Go See Lady Bird
Lady Bird was one of my favorite films this year at the Academy Awards, and honestly I am itching to see it again. The humor along with the depth of the mother daughter relationship in this film is enough for anybody to relate to!
p.s. Greta Gerwig also wrote the screenplay and directed Lady Bird(go girl!)
Listen to She Did It Her Way(Podcast)
She Did It Her Way is what got me into podcasts. Crazy to think that a year ago I had just started dabbling into them because now I am simply obsessed. Anyways, this podcast was created by Amanda Boleyn(she also hosts) and features female entrepreneurs each week, along with super helpful solo casts.
If you have an entrepreneurial spirit at all I STRONGLY suggest checking this out. I attribute finding the motivation to finally starting my blog to listening to tons of episodes early last year!
Read Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
This book is an absolute must read. I purchased this for a friends birthday last year and glanced through it before sending. And then I immediately went out and bought my own copy. Pickup this book and cue all the feels.
I would love to hear how you are celebrating! Let me know in the comments!
