I am excited to be sharing my first Life Lately post with you! Reading about life updates and current favorites on blogs are my personal favorite. I love staying current in what is going on in my favorite bloggers lives, and hearing their organic thoughts on their world currently!
Career: The past month overall has been absolutely crazy for me at work. I went from working on one project at work to dabbling into a few at once. Taking on different projects has helped me diversify what I am working on, and has led me to working on a campaign for a major cosmetic brand(YAYYYY!) Those that know me know cosmetics/beauty are one of the things I am most passionate about. I love the artistry, the science, and most importantly the confidence it can instill.
The Napa of the Midwest: Which I now know is southwestern Michigan! Last weekend my partner Joel and I took a much needed mini vacation. We closed out the weekend by touring wineries all day Saturday with our friends in southwestern Michigan. It was so fun, so pretty, and so close to Chicago!
This was something I was looking forward to all fall because, well wine of course! But also because Joel and I started seeing each other last year right after he had gone on this trip with his friends. I remember meeting them all and hearing about how much fun they had, and also seeing how blessed Joel was to have such a tight knit group of friends in Chicago. Joel and I chatted about this as we were en route to Michigan, discussing how much has changed for the good for us over the past year, and I also was feeling very #blessed.
Eats: Before heading to Michigan Joel and I spend a few days in Indianapolis to attend PASIC(Percussion Arts Society International Convention). PASIC was very cool, it was nice to see Joel in his element and to learn more about what he is passionate about. Before we left for Michigan on Friday we stopped at Shapiro’s Deli for lunch(our fav type of lunch because lox and corned beef duh). The ruben I had was beyond amazing. Posting this picture made me hungry all over again.
Cider: Now before you bypass this section because you’ve had Angry Orchard before and thought it was gross fermented sugar, don’t judge cider based of that stuff! My absolute favorite ciders are made by Two Towns. Two Towns makes all of their products with straight up apples and other natural fruits, they never add sugar! If you have not had Made Marion do yourself a favor and try it!! It is made with blackberries, is more tart than sweet, and is made with white wine yeast to give it a beautiful body. Two Towns also makes tons of other tasty ciders, like my current favorite Cot in the Act(hehe pun because apricot).
In Chicago you can get Two Towns at most Binny’s, some Whole Foods and Bitter Pops!
and lastly
Reading: I am currently reading You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero and I am loving every minute of it. It is an amazing read that walks you through getting out of your own way, and reframing your mind to excel to your fullest potential. Jen walks you through many no bullshit exercises to try on your own, and I have not only loved them, but cannot stop talking about them to the people around me!
Cheers!
