My Melt-Proof Summer Makeup Routine

Hi friends! Happy Friday!

A few weekends ago I attended a wedding ceremony in a green house(It was so beautiful! But SO HOT). As soon as I found out the location my wheels immediately started turning about my makeup. I am very confident in my “glam” makeup look when it comes to longevity. BUT I wondered would it still have the same longevity after an hour in a greenhouse? My goal was to walk out of the ceremony and to NOT feel like my makeup had melted straight off my face.

My “glam” routine is the routine I use for my complexion when I want my makeup to stay flawless all day for events like weddings and other special events throughout the summer.I hate feeling like I have a lot of makeup on, so I try to use lightweight products that will give me the complexion results I’m looking for. At the end of the day I want my skin to still feel like my skin, just enhanced!

STEP BY STEP:

Step One: Primer(Nivea Men Post Shave Balm)

Primer is absolutely necessary when you are going for longevity with your makeup. I have tried so many primers, and a majority of them have broken me out, or made my face feel greasy. After a lot of research I realized glycerin is the main ingredient in all of the primers I like. So as odd as this may sound I use this Nivea Mens After Shave Balm as my primer. AND IT IS AMAZING! i apply a quarter size amount all over my face, focusing most of the product throughout my t-zone area. Please note that I use the Sensitive version! This balm also comes in maximum strength and cooling which will be much harsher on your skin!

Step Two: Bare Minerals BarePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation

This foundation is my obsession. The finish is so natural, while still giving a lot of coverage. And most importantly it does not look cakey. I apply a half a pump of this onto the back of my hand and then distribute it throughout my face and neck with a beauty sponge. I wear the shade Sandalwood(#15) and use this beauty sponge by Eco Tools!

Step Three: A Dusting of Bare Minerals Original Loose Powder Foundation

This foundation has been my go-to since age 16. It seriously makes your skin look air brushed. The most important part here is to not overdo it. Sprinkle a tiny amount of powder into the lid, yes a fluffy(not too dense) brush and buff the powder in circles all over you face.

And that is it friends! The combination of these three different mediums work miracles. And most importantly leave you with airbrushed looking skin all day. I layer my color products right over this(bronzer & blush)!
