Finding a skincare routine that works can be tricky and can take time. A successful skincare routine is rooted in understanding your skin type and what your skin needs. A successful MORNING skincare routine balances and protects your skin. My skin is combination and sensitive. Combination skin tends to be oily in the t-zone and can get dry around the perimeter of the face. Combination skin also tends to be acne prone in the t-zone area specifically.
After lots of tweaking below is my morning skincare routine. This routine balances my skin, provides hydration and protects it, plus this routine lays well under makeup(which is a big win in my eyes).
My Simple Morning Skincare Routine
STEP 1: CLEANSE
A good cleanser is the foundation of a good skincare routine. The Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser is a rich gel texture. It prevents pore clogging buildup and balances the pH of your skin. Most importantly it is gentle.
STEP 2: DE-PUFF
Ice rolling is a game changer. Store this ice roller in your freezer and roll your cleansed skin and neck. This roller encourages lymphatic drainage and de-puffs your face…if you suffer from allergies this roller is pure heaven.
STEP 3: BALANCE
I am so passionate about the Tower 28 S.O.S Spray that I wrote an this post about it. This spray is a solution to “angry skin”, think environmental stressors and bacteria. The star ingredient hypochlorous acid is found in white blood cells and helps repair irritated skin.
STEP 4: BRIGHTEN
Vitamin C is a powerhouse skincare item that reduces hyper-pigmentation and brightens dark spots. Additionally Vitamin C protects from damaging free radicals, making it important to use Vitamin C in the morning.
STEP 5: PREVENT
The skin in our eye area is much more sensitive than the rest of our face. Using a gentle, hydrating eye cream everyday helps to protect and maintain that sensitive skin. I love this affordable eye cream for mornings.
STEP 6: HYDRATE
This oil free gel moisturizer is heaven in a jar. The Farmacy Daily Greens Moisturizer was formulated to provide lasting hydration while preventing shine.
STEP 7: PROTECT
If you do one thing in the morning make it SPF. SPF protects your skin from sun damage and pre-mature aging. I love this Innisfree Daily SPF. It lays well under makeup and gives you a tiny bit of glow without adding shine.
