Hello!
Today on the blog I am very excited to be sharing My October Beauty Favorites! Fall and Winter are my favorite time of year to test out new products(I have oily skin, and stick to my tried and true products in the warmer months).
Let me know in the comments if you have been loving these products also, or any recommendations on what to try next!
Nivea Men Post Shave Balm-Sensitive(as a face primer)
To start off if you have not watched nikkietutorials on you youtube you are missing out! Nikkie mentioned in one of her videos that she used this product out of necessity. She was out of primer and her boyfriend had this in the bathroom, which is when she discovered the main active ingredients are almost identical to a prestige brand primer.
I have been using this primer for almost 2 years. So why is it in your October Beauty favorites you must be asking yourself?
Frankly I thought it wasn’t doing anything, so I stopped using it. After a few days I began to realize my makeup was not lasting as long as it normally does, and my skin appeared to have a less than desirable texture. I reintroduced this primer into my routine and I fell in love with it all over again. It is the perfect consistency, glides right on your skin and also smells slightly like a mens product, which I love.
To use this product I pour a nickel size amount onto my fingers and then press it into my skin, focusing on my t-zone.
NYX Matte Bronzer in the shade Medium
Bronzer is a face product I cannot live without. I use bronzer in my daily routine by applying it in a simple “3” shape(dusting from my temple, under my cheek bone, and finishing under my jaw line.) The whole purpose of the “3” is to slightly darken the perimeter of your face, making your makeup look more natural, and to also define your cheekbones and jaw line.
Over the past few years I have stuck to one bronzer that has never failed me, the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. The Hoola bronzer is a flattering shade skin tones ranging fair to tan, and is completely matte. When it came time to refill my Hoola a few weeks ago I found myself wanting to branch out, that is when I came across the NYX Matte Bronzer. This bronzer is on par with the Hoola and is half the price! Not to mention the NYX packaging quality blows the Hoola packaging out of the water.
Overall these are both excellent bronzers! However if you are looking for more bang for your buck I would suggest NYX.
Essence Make Me Brow & Lash Princess Mascara
The Essence Make Me Brow & Lash Princess Mascara are both shocking quality for their price. These products retail at under $5 each and are staples in my makeup bag.
Make Me Brow is a tinted brow mascara. I use the Anastasia Dip Brow to shape my brows daily, and I lock in my shape with a quick swipe of Make Me Brow. This is also a great option for those of you that are #blessed with naturally full brows.
Lash Princess Mascara is the best mascara I have ever used. It lengthens while also giving volume. The wand is incredibly easy to maneuver. Honestly the next time you need a mascara refill test this one out for yourself, and I promise it will not disappoint.
Kristin Ess Dry Finish Working Texture Spray
If you are not familiar with Krisitin Ess she is the mastermind behind the hair of Lucy Hale and Lauren Conrad. If that alone does not convince you to check out her line of products at Target(yes, Target) then I do not know what will. I purchased this dry texture spray as an affordable dupe for the Oribe Dry Texture Spray, and used it to style my hair for a recent wedding.
This product did not disappoint! It says right on the bottle, “this is the best affordable dry texture spray on the market” and the bottle is not wrong. I now use this daily; whether I am styling my hair straight, wavy, or curly. I spray generously on my finished hair from roots to mid shaft and am left with a slightly lived in style.
