So you want to wear a sweater but it’s still sunny and 70 during the afternoon? A sweater vest and a t-shirt is the answer to your problem my friend. It doesn’t hurt that sweater vests are about to be the trend of the fall and winter season. Find yourself a sweater vest you love and wear it now with a tee shirt. Later this winter wear it with a turtleneck or an oversized button down.
HOW TO STYLE A SWEATER VEST & A TEE 101:
STEP 1: Layer it over a basic tee. I love layering these two because it feels casual and cute but also classic and timeless. I personally love a white crewneck tee, my favorite is this $5 one from Target. This ribbed high neck tee from Uniqulo would also be cute.
STEP 2: Pair it with oversized jeans or a pleated skirt. My oversized jeans are thrifted men’s levi’s that I cut about 6 inches off. There is no denying baggy jeans are the it jeans right now. If they are a bit outside of your typical denim comfort zone fear not. Try out the trend without a sizable investment by visiting your local thrift shop. Select a pair of jean 2 or so sizes bigger than you usually wear. If thrifting isn’t your thing try these Men’s Wrangler Jeans from Walmart.
Another way to style a sweater vest is to pair it with a pleated skirt. Pleated skirts/tennis skirts are everywhere right now. This white tennis skirt from Amazon is a steal! I just ordered it in white. I also love this more sporty option from Nike.
& LASTLY A FEW SWEATER VESTS I LOVE
My preferred sweater vest is a little oversized and boxy. Don’t be afraid to size up or check out men’s sweater vests!
